Bumblewick Cottages are located close to the beautiful Yorkshire Coast or if you want to escape the crowds completely, the peaceful North York Moors are right on your doorstep - hundreds of miles of fantastic walking in stunning scenery.

There are some wonderful picturesque towns and villages along the Yorkshire Coast to explore including Scarborough, Whitby (legend of Dracula, Whitby Abbey), Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.

The medieval city of York with its famous minster, city walls, Jorvik Viking Centre, National Railway Museum and York Racecourse are within driving distance.

Dalby Forest is a short drive into the National Park. A network of forest roads including the 9 mile Dalby Forest Drive provide access to this outstanding landscape. Formed in the Ice Age and shaped by the people from the Bronze Age to the present day, Dalby is very much a forest worth visiting.

For those looking for culture, why not visit Castle Howard, one of England's grandest Baroque mansions and gardens.

For steam railway enthusiasts, there is the famous North York Moors Railway which winds through the North York Moors National Park between Pickering and Grosmont.

if you are feeling energetic, we are also not far from Ability Outdoors - the Outdoor Activity Centre for orienteering, archery, canoeing, paint balling and other exciting adventures.

Whatever you enjoy doing, there is something for everyone in this wonderful part of North Yorkshire.
